"I Love StrollerFit"
My name is Carrie Headly and I'm writing to tell you - I love StrollerFit. Wait… can I say that again? I LOVE STROLLERFIT!!!!!!Ever since starting the program eight months ago, I have been hooked. Not only has it motivated me to exercise and provided social opportunities for both my one year old and me; but it has helped in many other ways. Ways that are surely beyond its creator’s intentions.
My husband and I moved to Cincinnati less than a year ago. Coming to the city in pursuit of a new job, we knew very few people. With the move, I too gained new employment; as a stay at home mom to our then two month old son.
This would prove to be one of my biggest challenges. Not only was I trying to adjust to life with a new baby, but also learn a new city and try to make friends with similar interests. This is when StrollerFit came into my life.
I first learned of the StrollerFit? program when a local news station aired a story highlighting the Ault Park group. It looked interesting to me and I was excited that you could bring your baby along. Over the next several days, I was unable to forget the story and decided to look for more information on the web. That’s when I discovered a chapter closer to me in Symmes Township.
I contacted the instructor and before I knew it, I was attending my first class. I went mainly in search of meeting new moms but figured that getting a little exercise also certainly couldn’t hurt. I had no idea how much I would gain from a simple exercise program.
I have been attending the Symmes class twice a week now for eight months. Not only have I enjoyed the benefits of exercise, but also I have developed some wonderful friendships that have pulled me through a tough transition to a new community.
StrollerFit has provided a wonderful group of moms with similar lifestyles and interests. They are an endless source of advice on raising children and have been helpful in locating resources around the city. From doctors, to photographers, to restaurants….. if I don’t know where to go, I ask my StrollerFit moms!
Several of the moms from our class have even organized a playgroup that meets regularly twice a month and are in the process of developing a mom’s night out. StrollerFit has helped to replace the close-knit group of friends that I lost as a result of the move.
